Almar History

     Almar was started in 1959 By Gerald Quinn and his partner. Using the first part of each man’s wive's name: ALMAR; AL (Alice) MAR (Mary), and the name stayed even after the partner left.  

In 1973 Gerald’s son Terry took over running business. By this time the company had 5 full time employees who were working on construction projects from roofing and siding to blow-in Insulation. 

In the early 1980’s Almar slowed itself down a little, and cut back on it services.  

Then in the early 1990’s when the business picked back up the office was moved from Holbrook to Hanson. Seeing the need to once again expand into a niche market Almar expanded in to Lead Paint Abatement  projects along with all their other full service remodeling projects. 

In May of 2002 a third generation of Quinn’s came to work full time in the business when Allison, Terry’s daughter joined the Management team, keeping Gerald’s dream alive.    

In the winter of 2006 Almar moved to Rt. 53 in Hanover to better serve their South Shore clients.  Located only 1 mile south of the Hanover Mall, Almar has an office that will allow customers to come in and meet with the Almar Staff as well as see samples of materials that may be used on their home renovations and even see their Design/Build project projected onto our large screen in our conference room.

Today, Almar takes on any size projects for municipalities, private jobs involving kitchen and bath remodels, basement remodels, decks, sun rooms, second story and other additions, garages, and many other types of major Design/Build remodeling projects. 

Almar is fully licensed, insured, and responds entirely professionally throughout your entire project period. This full-service construction company has grown and changed with the times, keeps up with what you- the savvy consumer- wants and needs.
