The Almar team is very proud of this stunning first-floor remodel on Duxbury Beach. Transforming the space into an entertainer’s dream. To accommodate their large family and numerous friends, the homeowners envisioned a more open and functional layout, ideal for hosting gatherings and maximizing their stunning waterfront views.
“We wanted to make the space into something that reflected our own family’s personality, as well as rekindling childhood memories of my own times at the beach.”
One of the primary goals was to remove the existing kitchen and completely redesign the first-floor layout to improve the flow for entertaining. Our team reconfigured the space, creating an intuitive and inviting environment.
A particularly meaningful part of the remodel was the new living room fireplace. The homeowners wanted it to feel as though their children had gathered rocks from the beach to build it. Almar’s team worked closely with them to select the mason, refine the stone color, and review the pattern as it was being created.
“It turned out to be such a beautiful and heartfelt centerpiece for our home!”
To truly capitalize on the breathtaking surroundings, we strategically changed the window layout. This thoughtful adjustment maximized the unobstructed waterfront views while minimizing sightlines to neighboring houses, creating a private and serene atmosphere.
Collaboration was crucial to the project’s success. For the heart of the home, the kitchen, our Almar Design team worked closely with TopNotch Kitchen Design in Hanover on the layout and cabinet selections. Yale Appliance partnered with us to provide top-of-the-line appliances, and The Fireplace Connection ensured the perfect installation of a gas fireplace, in addition to a host of other wonderful trade partners.
Throughout the design process, drawings, computer-generated renderings, and inspiration helped the homeowners see the space take shape. When an original idea wasn’t feasible, the team helped develop an alternative that remained true to their vision.
“They listened to our ideas, thoughts, and visions and assisted in bringing it all to life within the space.”
Beyond the structural changes, we also assisted the homeowners with their interior decorating needs, helping them select beautiful furniture pieces from Pottery Barn to complete the refreshed aesthetic. Additionally, the first-floor bathroom received a complete update, tying the entire space together with a cohesive and modern design.
“Our Project Manager, Nolan, kept open communication, gave daily updates with photos, and brought meticulous attention to every detail. He also kept the project on its timeline, and when a delay occurred, he called us to discuss the next steps.”
