The Almar Team

Almar was founded in 1959 by Gerald Quinn and his partner. Today Almar is owned and operated by Gerald’s son Terry and granddaughter Allison. From the start our goal has been to provide quality craftsmanship, and the best solutions for all our clients needs.

Allison Quinn Guido, CS: General Manager/Partner.

Allison joined our team full time in May of 2002, after graduating from West Virginia Wesleyan College. She handles all of the office communications, as well as some of our sales. She was named the Builder’s Association of Greater Boston 2004 “Rookie of the Year.” And coordinates Almar’s Asthma Avengers for the Boston Asthma Walk.

Allison was featured as a Women in Business in the 2008 & 2009 March edition of South Shore Magazine. Allison was also the South Shore Women’s Business Network featured business in December of 2008. Click here to read her interview.

In 2010 she was honored as one of Cape & Plymouth Businesses Magazines 40 Under 40. And by West Virginia Wesleyan College with their Young Alumnae Achievement Award. In 2017 Allison was again names a Professional Remodeling Magazine 40 Under 40 Award Winner

Craig Guido, CS: Project Development/Partner.

Craig joined the Almar Team in 2004 as a Carpenter. Originally from West Virginia, Craig has helped Almar work closer and more efficiently with our customers and help meet their needs better. Craig is the head of our Sales and Design team. When not at work he enjoys playing with his 2 small boys, playing guitar, home brewing, and photography.

C. Trey Bird: Project DevelopmentTrey Bird

Trey is a jack of all trades and is willing to try his hand at almost anything. He joined the Almar team in 2014 and has been willing to accept any challenge we throw at him. Not easily flustered Trey has taken on some challenge deck and trim projects since he’s joined the team. When not at work he likes to stay active by running and mountain biking. He is now taking up the challenge of renovating his own home, having recently purchased an almost 300 year old home in Whitman (Built in 1720).

His taste in music is varied and he enjoys lots of different types and styles so he likes to listen to live bands whenever he has the chance. Trey likes remodeling because he likes “Turning a mess into a dream home.”

 

 

 

 

Mark Caruso, CS: Production Manager.

Mark has been part of the team since the early 1990’s. A Licensed Construction Supervisor he diligently works to make sure that every job is done right. With a real eye for detail, when asked what part of Remodeling he likes the best Mark told us “the finish work”. But he is truly good at all phases of Remodeling. He enjoys participating in Jen’s team each year for the MS Walk. Mark lives in Whitman with his wife Jean and three kids, which keeps him very busy when he’s not working.

 

 

 Ryan Shea: Assistant Production Manager Ryan Shea

Ryan is from Hanover Ma where he grew up with his 3 younger siblings and in his words “two awesome parents”. A Hanover High School Grad, he went to Curry College and studied Communications. He likes to spend time with his family & friends, travel, watch movies and play golf. In addition to being a huge Hockey fan, which he played growing up.

Ryan joined the Production Team in 2013 and recently was promoted to Assistant Production Manager. As APM Ryan hands scheduling, ordering and client communication for our clients remodeling projects. About remodeling he says “I like working with customers through the entire project. Keeping them informed on how the project is developing. I take satisfaction in knowing the customers dream remodel is being realized.”

 

 

Melissa Boynton: Assistant Production Manager

Originally from Dayton Ohio where she was one of seven siblings, Melissa has lived in Scituate and co-managed a residential construction company for the last 25 years. She is excited to bring her skills to the Almar team. She is the proud mother of two boys 11 and 17. Melissa is an avid gardener and floral arranger, enjoys volunteering at her son’s school, and is a competitive tennis player. Melissa is passionate about helping people improve their living spaces to achieve more organization and ease. She enjoys working with color and textures to create flow and that certain style & feel that is unique to each homeowner.  Big fan of Design on a Dime theory, she also enjoys working with recycled or upcycled items to achieve project goals while saving money and our landfills.

 

John DeCoste: CarpenterJohn Decoste

“JD” is originally from Weymouth but currently lives in Norwell, right next door to his brother with his Golden Retriever Kairi. A graduate of Weymouth High Vo-Tech he enjoys creating things, building and reimagining spaces. When not working JD enjoys playing pickup hockey – he plays in leagues through the year, and is also in a band.

 

 

 

 

Vincent Watson: Carpenter

Vinnie grew up in Dedham with his brother, sister and parents and he still enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He likes remodeling because he loves seeing the reaction when a final product is revealed. A Patriots fan, he also enjoys playing in his Fantasy Football team. But when it’s time to get off the couch he plays basketball in a weekly league. And when he’s listening to music he’s more likely to have the Classic Rock station tuned into 70’s Classics than pop.

 

 

Dan Keith, CS: CarpenterDan keith

Dan joined the Almar team in December of 2016 after several years of running his own handy-man business. A great jack of all trades Dan just jumped right in to the team lending a hand on whatever project he is needed on most. Originally from Abington and a graduate of South Shore Vo-Tech, Dan now lived in Randolph with his wife. He is a father of two and has one grandchild. When is not working on a job site you can find Dan spending time with his family, fishing or on his many woodworking project.

 

 

 

Ryan Bates: Assistant Carpenter

Ryan if from Halifax and we are excited to have Ryan joining our team. A graduate of the CTE carpentry program at Silver Lake High School, Ryan joins the team with a strong background. He enjoys fishing and watching the New England Patriots play football.

 
Caitlyn Carvalho: Administrative Assistant

Caitlyn is from Hanson where she lives with her fiancé, father and brother as well as her bunny Stanley. A huge Bruins fan, she loves going to games and spending time with her friends and family. Caitlyn brings a desire to achieve the highest level of customer service and client service possible to the Almar team. She enjoys working with those around her to ensure the best results possible. She has a high attention to detail and is looking forward to working with the team to continue to improve upon process and client communication.

 

Bob Sanford: Project Development/Sales

Bob originally from West Bridgewater now lives in Carver with his wife of 35 years and 2 boys. He’s been in sales all his life and started working with Almar because he likes helping families fix problems. He loves spending time with his family, fishing with his boys, and coaching little league.

 

Scott Walsh, CS: Carpenter

Scott is from Weymouth, Ma where he lives with his wife and 4 kids.  Joined the Almar team in the fall of 2014 after a decade of running his own business. Because family comes first he decided it was time to team up with Almar so he could spend more time with his family. Scott says remodeling is a good fit for him because he loves meeting new people and seeing the end product once a project is completed.

 

David Juliano, Carpenter Assistant

We are please to have David on the team for the summer.

 

Terry Quinn, CS, CGR, CAPS, VSI: Partner/Past President.

Terry has been working in construction and gaining experience since an early age helping his father on the job sites. He has obtained his Construction Supervisor’s License, MA De-leading Contractor certificate, Certified Graduate Remodeler Designation, Vinyl Siding Installer Certification, and 5-Star Contractor Recognition from Certainteed. He firmly believes that education is a life long process and encourages all his employees to take advantages of continued education.

We are proud to announce that in the Fall of 2007 Terry became a Certified Installer by the Vinyl Siding Institute, and was recognized as a 5-Star Contractor from Certainteed.
