Why does Azek come with a logoed film on it?

Azek wrapped Pressure Treated Posts

PVC trim products have been replacing wood for the last few years. Because of the durability and longevity these products have become a popular option for many homeowners who want to invest in their homes but do not want to spend a lot of time and additional money on maintenance. So, what is Azek protective film?

Materials

You can easily mill this material without the need for painting, although it’s possible to paint it if desired. This material offers two finishes to choose from: Traditional, which has a smooth and semi-matte appearance, and Frontier, which has a rustic and woodgrain look.

If you have had work done one your house recently, or you have seen others you might have noticed the PVC trim stock has this clear, logoed film on it.  But why?

Azek is committed to maintaining the stunning appearance of their products on your home. That’s why they have introduced a Protective Film for their Classic AZEK Trim. This film helps to preserve the crisp white semimatte finish on both the Traditional and Frontier finishes. The film protects trim through every production phase: Shipping. Repacking, installation, and storage.

To achieve a brand new, factory-fresh appearance, you can remove the film either before or after installation.

Cleaning Trim Board

Depending on degree of cleaning needed, to keep your trim, clean you can power wash or hose loose dirt off of the trim board. To ensure that you don’t harm the surface of your trim, you should always check the pressure setting and nozzle before using a power washer. Other cleaning methods include using a soft cloth and a mixture of mild detergent.
