Bathroom Remodeling Trends

Are you thinking about remodeling your bathroom? If it is old, worn out and not functioning the way you would like for your family’s needs then you might be interested in learning about what bathroom remodeling trends are popular.  There are a lot of exciting trends to look forward to, from wet rooms and smart showers to natural materials and sustainable design. Here are some bathroom remodeling trends.

Snow & Jones

Wet Rooms

Wet rooms are a great way to create a more open and spacious feel in your bathroom. They are also easier to clean, as there is no need for a shower enclosure. Wet rooms are typically created by removing the shower curb and using a seamless tile floor design. This makes the bathroom feel more like a spa-like retreat.

Smart Showers & Electronics

Smart showers are increasingly because they offer a variety of features that can enhance your showering experience. These features can include adjustable temperature and pressure controls, voice activation, and even mood lighting.

Design Expert Danielle Jones from Snow & Jones says, “Smart showers can also be connected to your home automation system, so you can control them with your smartphone or tablet. We are also starting to see more interest in smart toilets and bidet seats.”

Natural Materials

Homeowners are increasingly looking for natural materials like wood, stone, and marble in their bathrooms. These materials add a touch of luxury and sophistication to any space. Natural materials are also durable and easy to maintain. Jones says, “We are seeing a return of wood cabinets like beautiful walnuts and white/washed oak.”

Sustainable Design

Sustainable design is very popular, and bathrooms are no exception. Homeowners are looking for ways to reduce their environmental impact, and there are several ways to do this in the bathroom. For example, you can install low-flow showerheads and toilets, and use recycled materials for countertops and flooring.

Bold Colors and Patterns

We are seeing a move away from all-white bathrooms. Homeowners are embracing bold colors and patterns, which can add a lot of personality to a space. Popular colors for bathrooms include green, blue, and black. Many people are choosing black and brushed gold or unlacquered brass in faucets. Kati Finneran from Mountain Ave Interiors shared that “I’m also seeing people use more color in the bathroom with tile, and different patterns.”

These are just a few of the bathroom remodeling trends that we can expect to see these days. If you are thinking about remodeling your bathroom Finneran reminds us, “be sure to think about putting more emphasis on decorative lighting in the bathroom and really consider the design and not just the function.”
