Home Office… we need one NOW!

Home Office, Hanover Ma

As we know, the Covid19 Pandemic has a lot of people now working from home.  Maybe like you some homeowners are finding out that they will be working from home indefinitely.  With kids learning from home for school, and families now around the house all while you are trying to get your work done, we know that finding a space for you to call your office might be a challenge.   In the past months we have been speaking to more homeowners than ever before about getting that office space in their home.

Where to add a home office?

So where can you find space for the dedicated workspace of your very own?  It varies, from building additions on house to remodeling attic or basement spaces.  We have a homeowner that has decided to take the opportunity to build a nice Great Room addition on their home, but instead of the usual crawlspace foundation, we are doing a Full basement area with a basic finished room to allow for an office in the house.  An addition is on way that you can gain space on your home, but it also tends to be the costliest option to gain an office.

Basements and Attics are also popular areas of your home that might be unfinished and allow you to expand your living area.   There are plenty of ways and levels of finished for those spaces to allow you to section off and renovate a space to make into an office.  We recently converted a formal living room into an office with several workstations for everyone to have their own space.

Lets do it!

Gaining that new space in your home as an office may not be as hard as you think.  You want to both like the space and be productive in it. We should consider how you will block out distractions, be comfortable year-round, how much electrical and what the best lighting options are for your needs. Give Almar a call to come out and look at your home to help you find that space in your home.
